Healing begins here
Person-centered, trauma-focused counseling that's built around you. Not a template. Not a checklist. Just thoughtful, individualized care — right next door.
About the Practice
At Next Door Counseling, therapy is never one-size-fits-all. This is a solo practice built on one belief: you deserve care that's as personal as your story. Every session is shaped around you — your experiences, your pace, your goals.
I specialize in co-occurring disorders and trauma-focused treatment, working with individuals who carry more than one challenge at a time. Whether you're navigating trauma alongside anxiety, depression intertwined with substance use, or the layered complexity of overlapping struggles — I meet you in the fullness of your experience, not just one piece of it.
This is a space where you won't be reduced to a diagnosis or handed a generic treatment plan. Person-centered care means I listen first, and together we build an approach that honors who you are and where you want to go.
Areas of Focus
Life rarely hands us one struggle at a time. I specialize in treating overlapping conditions with the depth and nuance they deserve.
When anxiety meets substance use, or depression intertwines with disordered eating — I treat the whole picture, not just the parts. Integrated care means nothing gets overlooked.
Using EMDR, somatic approaches, and trauma-focused CBT, I help you process what happened without being re-defined by it. Healing moves at your pace, always.
Whether it's the weight of depression or the restlessness of anxiety — or both at once — I use evidence-based methods tailored to how these show up in your life specifically.
A compassionate, non-judgmental approach to substance use that addresses the underlying pain driving it. Recovery is personal, and your path doesn't have to look like anyone else's.
Grief doesn't follow a timeline or a formula. I provide a space where all of it — the sadness, anger, guilt, and love — is welcome and honored.
Major changes can stir up old wounds alongside new fears. Whether it's a career shift, relationship change, or identity exploration, I help you navigate with clarity and self-compassion.
How It Works
No two people heal the same way. Here's how I create a therapeutic experience that's built around you from the very first conversation.
Meet Your Therapist
I started Next Door Counseling because I believe therapy should feel personal — not clinical, not formulaic, and never rushed. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), my approach is rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and the right tools.
I specialize in co-occurring disorders and trauma-focused treatment because I've seen how often people carry overlapping struggles that get treated in isolation. You deserve care that sees the full picture — the anxiety and the substance use, the depression and the grief, the trauma underneath it all.
When I'm not in session, you'll find me browsing the farmers market, out on the water kayaking, getting my hands dirty in the garden, or just soaking in everything Door County has to offer. That same sense of groundedness and presence is what I bring into every session.
